Day 20 & 21 - Visiting the Air Museum and hiking on Marrowstone Island

Image
There is a small plane airport near where we are parked with a very popular restaurant - could hardly find parking!  Interesting - this is an international airport because of it's close proximity to Canada.  We had breakfast there and then visited the Air Museum.  Very nice.  A pleasant hike along the coast Fort Flagler Of course Tom was interested in this water pipe.  A hollow tree.

Day 17 - 19 - Visiting local places

Visiting some of the local places.  First - Port Townsend.  We seem to go there the most.  Famous for their wooden boats and I mean boats of all kinds...kayaks, sail boats, trawlers, and more.  They also had a strategic fort on the point - Fort Worden.  And across the bay are Fort Casey and Fort Flagler.  Together these three forts protected the water entrance to Seattle. Pictures of Fort Worden They were having a music festival there Walking on the beach near Port Townsend There's no shortage of places to walk - beaches everywhere! The deer just walk right through town. Port Townsend is very historic - lots of old buildings and homes
